The Flame Knife is a Conan novella by L. Sprague de Camp based on an El Borak story, "Three-Bladed Doom", by Robert E. Howard; it is usually credited to Howard and de Camp.

Howard wrote two versions of "Three-Bladed Doom": a longer one of about 42,000 words and a shorter one of about 24,000 words; de Camp re-wrote the longer version.

[edit] Differences from Howard's original story
