Sharkosh's demons attack and kill the Aesir and capture Conan. Sharkosh's handmaiden, Tara, reveals to Conan the source of Sharkoth's power, and, escaping his cage, Conan shatters the stone while Sharkoth is in communion with it, revealing the future destiny of Conan and mankind. Conan flees the caves with Tara as the entire mountain explodes. Tara reveals herself to be a demon from the dimension of the Star Stone and she is pulled back to her home plane as Conan wanders off, contemplating the future he was shown.
