Synopsis[]
Conan stops Tanada from torturing Diana, knowing that the citizenry is ready to explode and something like this might be the final straw. Shubba reports back to Tuthmes what has occurred, the lord instructs Muru to send the pig-demon to kill Diana and Conan. That night, a bloodthirsty Tanada has a man named Aahmes executed in the town square, and a disgusted Conan leaves to seek Diana. At that moment, the creature is coalescing in Diana's chambers, and Conan arrives just in time to attack. A bitter battle ensues, with Conan repeatedly stabbing the monster and half-beheading it at one point. Even then, the creature manages to stagger away. Conan follows the bloody trail into the town square, where the creature finally succumbs to its injuries at the feet of its masters Tuthmes and Muru. Accused of sorcery by the witch-smeller Ageera, Tuthmes and Muru are torn to pieces by an angry mob. When Tanada tries to get her soldiers to stop the crowd, they turn on her and slay her. The entire city erupts in violence against the lords, and Conan takes Diana and flees the burning city.
