Synopsis[]
Conan is visited in his dreams by Thoth-Amon, who warns the barbarian against rescuing Belit's father. Conan remains defiant, even though the sorceror shows Conan a vision of the Tigress engulfed in flames as a result of Conan and Belit's quest. Going topside, Conan greets a brooding Belit but their conversation is interrupted by the sighting of a Stygian ship. Belit and Conan's crew easily take and burn the ship, seeking information and secrets on the Stygian capital of Luxur. The Stygians refuse to help, one even committing suicide before he reveals information, but a slave girl, Neftha, freed by the pirates agrees to show them how to get into the royal palace. A large contingent of Belit's crew row into the port city of Khemi, which is unguarded due to a festival honoring Set. The pirates quickly begin burning the warships of the Stygians, and in the chaos that occurs, M'Gora takes the bulk of the pirates back to the Tigress while Conan, Belit and Neftha remain behind in the city to begin the trek to Luxur...
