"Believe me or don't, but don't say I didn't warn you. I actually took the glasses off half an hour into the movie and, while blurry, it was a vast improvement." - Sheenan87 (IMDb)
Of course I don't always believe things I read on the internet, especially when it involves reviewing movies, books, bars, restaurants, etc., but the above quote is almost unanimously reinforced. Every comment I've seen about the new Conan movie, which came out today, mentions the poor use of 3D. In my last blog post, I briefly mentioned that I was unimpressed with the use of 3D in recent years, but I wrongly assumed that Conan would be palpable in the format, seeing as it's an action movie about a barbarian smashing heads. Let the blood fly, right? Wrong.

If you've ever wanted to see those fantasies inside your head turned into a 3D summer blockbuster, the history of Conan is your best guide. The Conan remake hits theaters this Friday, August 19th, and if Robert E. Howard were still alive, he would be blown away. The advancements of cinema technology would probably freak him out, but he would also break down in tears watching his Cimmeria come to life (in 3D!). Then again, the way 3D movies have been going lately, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to show the remake to zombie Robert E. Howard. He might eat himself. We're better off letting him read the comics! Anyway, I've turned the abridged history of Conan into a guide for your own box office success. Hopefully you don't have the impatien…Read more >

Jason Momoa (along with Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz) enjoyed some red carpet time at the Conan, L.A. premiere August 11, 2011!Read more >
Rachel Nichols was in attendance, as was Rose McGowan, wearing a sparkling blue sequin gown.
A new clip from the upcoming Conan the Barbarian movie starring Jason Momoa as Conan has been released. This time it shows us not the adult Conan played by Momoa, but a younger (but still pretty badass) version of our favorite barbarian, as well as an appearance by Ron Perlman (who previously voiced Conan himself in Conan: Red Nails) as Corin.

Excited to see the upcoming movie remake? Prepare to get a little more stoked and excited as courtesy of Ain't It Cool News, we now have access to five new character posters from this Marcus Niepel directed flick.
Not being too familiar with the Conan series, I don't know what to think of these character posters. I think the character played by Rose McGowan looks interesting and Rachel Nichols looks pretty attractive in her poster. Steven Lang's character also makes him look pretty intense and awesome. What are your opinions and thoughts on these posters?

Have you seen the latest trailer for Conan the Barbarian coming out this summer? Not only did we get to see Conan in some epic action sequences, but also got one of our first looks at Rose McGowan, who is playing the evil witch Marique.
While Marique may have some seriously cool witchy powers, her makeup, hair, and clothing required feats of movie magic that aren't nearly as fun. According to Ms. McGowan:
"Her high forehead, twisted hair, and all the rest 'required six hours of makeup each day starting at 2:30 in the morning.' In the press notes for the movie, Rose says the all-leather skin-tight costumes were as difficult as the make-up. 'The costumes were feats of engineering, and it took two people to get me in and out of almost every one…
